For those who love exchanging emails with the inmate, you will get a notification on your JPay.com account that you have received emails. There is no exact information but it is possible for the inmate to also be notified when they receive an email from you. That’s the way they know they have a JPay email. Once they get the notification, with very few exceptions, they can read and reply to your emails via the JPay Kiosks conveniently located inside their living units.
In case there is an error and the inmates do not receive a notification, hence, you do not get the reply, please tell them to try to reach out to the representative of JPay. Aside from the inmate, you can also be the one that tries to contact the customer support. If you want to do so, the number that you have to be dialed is (800) 574-JPAY (5729). Everything about JPay email
Everyone is able to send email to the inmate by using the official website of JPay. Before sending email to the inmate, it is needed for you to buy stamps.
- Sending email
After purchasing stamps, it is time for you to send emails to the inmate that you want. It is worth noting that your emails will be delivered in one or two business days and never on weekends or holidays.
In order to send email, firstly, go to the JPay homepage and click Email located on the Navigation menu. do not forget to enter the content of the email on the Compose page. Feel free to add image, video, or record video. When everything is done, please click Send to send your email. In case there is no Send button, it means you have not purchased enough stamps for the email that you want to send. Before clicking the Send button, you may want to preview the email by clicking on the Preview button.
- Adding attachments
As stated before, you are allowed to add attachments to your JPay emails. The kinds of attachments that you can add include image and video. What is unique about JPay is the existence of VideoGram. The number of attachments that are allowed to be added will depend on the facility to which you are sending the email. Plus, do not forget that the video or image should be less than 1MB or 1024 kb in size. In addition, take note that you can only make attachments after typing the letter.
- VideoGrams
It has been mentioned that JPay has a thing called VideoGrams. It refers to the thing that can be attached to emails that you will send to the inmate. For those who have no idea, it is a recording using a webcam attached to your computer. If you want to make this kind of recording, the system will take control of your default camera web so that you can record yourself for the inmate. However, you cannot do it freely as it has the limit of 30 seconds in duration.
- Checking sent emails
If you want to see the previous emails that you have sent to the email, you can just go to the Sent page. To do so, click Email on the JPay homepage on the Navigation menu. You will be able to see Sent on the Compose page on the Email menu. Upon seeing it, click it.
- Purchasing stamps
Purchasing stamps is important if you want to send emails to the inmate. In order to do so, on the go to the JPay homepage and click Email on the Navigation menu. Just like Sent, the Buy Stamps is also located on the Compose page and is below Sent. You will need to click it and do not forget to choose the stamp package that you want before clicking Continue. Feel free to select the payment method that you want by choosing the previously saved card from the Select card list. As an alternative, you can also click Use a new credit/debit card if you want to use a new card. After that, click Continue. The next thing that should be done is to click on the next JPay Email/eMessaging Terms of Use in the Payment Verification box. Then, choose the checkbox as a sign that you have read and agree to the eMessaging Terms of Use of JPay. Lastly, confirm the payment information that is correct in the Payment Verification box and then click Buy Stamps.
- Checking stamp purchase history
The stamp purchases that you have done in the past can be seen by checking the purchase history. To check it, head over to the JPay homepage, and click Email on the Navigation menu. On the Compose page on the Email menu, there is Purchase History to click.
